The Australian 5x national boxing champion recently opened Miami’s newest attraction, a new state-of-the-art fitness facility in the heart of the city. We sat with Mateo, a true Unicorn, to share his journey.

The Colosseum is a wonder of the Roman Empire, a breathtaking arena that showcased gladiators. BOXR is no different. Located at 1310 NE 1st Ave, Miami, FL 33132, BOXR is an impressive facility built by Mateo Attala and hosts modern-day fitness enthusiasts through a broad range of combat and exercise activities, including boxing, jujitsu, Muay Thai, yoga, spin and more.

His slogan is “I AM BOXR”, but despite his boxing background, BOXR is more than boxing. Mateo officially opened BOXR in January 2022, a journey which began with training clients from his apartment in 2020. At the time he had a vision and hustle for where he wanted to take training. Fast forward - Mateo now has 2 large boxing rings, MMA cages, a basketball court, weight room, recording studio, barbershop, recovery center, a restaurant and more in a 30,000 sq. ft. restructured warehouse. The gym is so impressive that it’s become an attraction for social media creators looking for trendy content. It’s is a brand that Mateo says he “eats, breathes, and sleeps”, and which he cares about “quality and ethics”.

I'm motivated to be the best—in everything—and motivating others. Our state-of-the-art facility is focused on bringing you an experience unlike anything you've ever seen. It's not just another gym... it's a lifestyle.

HOW DID YOU IDENTIFY YOUR PURPOSE?

After 16 years and 180 fights, I began taking private clients to coach—from professional athletes, corporate executives to celebrities. I soon fell in love with it and BOXR was formed. I started in my apartment and we now have an impressive 30,000 sq. ft. facility.

We're going to take over territories... We're taking over the world.
